This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

I came accross an article about this in one of the newspapers, council critisised for holding on to £25000 they were given after sale of old police station, the idea being that the money would be used for a community project but apparantly there has been no public consultation as to how best to spend the money and it has been sitting in a bank account , they are now accused of being in breach of contract and might have to give it back to bradford council. What is going on!!!

Another stitch up! This money has NOTHING to do with Bradford. As far as I am concerned, they have no claim to it. It was money from WYPA to STC, to accommodate the PCSO's in Silsden, following the sale of the police station.

so why was it not used for a community contact point then? although I cannot see how it would cost £25000, I think the contact point used to be in the town hall anyway didn't it and now I think the pcso uses the coffee mornings at the methodist church presumably at no cost. Do the conditions of the payment state that it can only be used for police contact point or can it be used for any project that will benefit the people of silsden
