Please go on have your say to Save Ward 24 our local dementia cAre ward. This plan wants to move specialist dementia care ward from Airedale Hospital to Lynfield Mount ! Bradford. Cachenent area means that for some carers will need to do a round trip of 90 miles using 10 buses taking 7 hours ! |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) The subject is fine in "Have you say" and there is no need to start another topic. The problem is the subject - dementia, the thing everyone hope will never happen to them, or a member of their family. If we don't talk about it perhaps it will go away  The truth is dementia is horrible, not just for the sufferer, but for those who have to care for them - families and friends. As if this was not bad enough, to put loved one in a location which is difficult to get to is just adding to the problems of those families.It is perhaps a judgement on ourselves that we live and care for ourselves, and today, and don't have much thought for the future, and what may happen in the future.
