Received a letter advising 2-way lights near Canalside Court (former Pennine Playgrounds site) to form a sewer connection in Keighley Road. It includes a no parking request on the relevant part of Keighley Road
Stated dates are Friday 18th until Sunday 20th September and reinstatement of the carriageway and footpath on Saturday 26th or Sunday 27th.
Whilst the works haven't started so far today, several large delivery trucks have been parking outside the site, causing the usual traffic chaos around them. |

Coming back from Keighley this morning @ 11-30, ambulance car ( first responder ) past me with his 2s and blues on while I was queuing at the golf range ambulance then turned into Belton Rd and parked up. Then whilst I was walking out of car park near the church another ambulance came thru town heading towards Ilkley again with 2s @ blues, but when he was past all the traffic and going up Bolton Rd 2s @ blues were turned off. Is this the way to jump the queue. |

Is this the way to jump the queue. The Ambulance Service says "...It is then up to the discretion of the driver of the ambulance to decide when to use sirens and lights or just the lights. They will usually switch their sirens on when approaching junctions or traffic to alert people and vehicles to the presence of an ambulance before they can be seen.". If there's traffic, the sirens and lights are to warn them, if not, they're turned off. |

I completely agree with you addeythom. I'm sure the use of sirens on ambulances are not used indiscriminately at all .Also the rapid response vehicle may have possibly been stood down from that particular job,and parked up to await further instructions from ambulance control. |

No problem with traffic lights at about 13:30 today, but plenty of tailbacks caused by inconsiderate morons using the cricket ground today or Silsden football ground. |

No lights at 2-15 when I went past, just the parking problem at the football ground, I gave way for a wide h.g.v coming into silsden and car drivers behind me managed to find there horns, |

Just out of interest, the gang that did the sewer connection worked right through Friday night and Saturday morning to the point of filling the hole and the trench back into the site with concrete, which they then had to leave overnight to set.
They were back on the job this morning at about 07.00. The hole was very deep. Only about 3 rungs of a medium sized ladder were protruding above the surface and steel sides had to be sunk to ensure the sides didn't cave in and harm the operator. Very impressed with the gang. Everything that should have been in place by a certain time was delivered on a timely basis, including plant, materials and specialist labour. |
