this post has been edited 1 time(s) I am absolutely disgusted at the amount of dog c*** on the streets of silsden. I had my sister staying who isn't from this area and I was so embarrassed taking her for a stroll round town. I mean it's not just the odd c*** tucked to the side. People are letting their dogs s*** right in the middle of the path! At one point down new road there were 3 seperate turds in the middle of the path next to each other!! I can't even let my toddler walk down the road and when she does she just says "Ergh" all the way. Lovely!! What happened to not sh****** on your own doorstep!! Get some respect please!!!! Pick up your dogs s***!!!! ___________________ I know this is an emotive subject especially if you have just stood in it, but please try to moderate your language. I will not tollerate bad language on this forum. Thanks Peter |

Its suspected that this is the result of one dog owner who lives in the new road area. Its the heaviest concentration of it in the area so it sort of bears these suspicions out... |

I'm sorry for the swear words. Does anyone know who this dog owner is of where they live? Because I'm at the point now where I would have no problem scooping up all the poo and leaving it on their door step. Lol seriously what can we do??? |

I know who the main culprit is around this area. If you look back at the many threads on here it's been going on years . Last year (or even the year before) I reported it to the council gave the address of the person a description of the person and the dog and even gave them the persons name , could they do anything ??? Apparently not without photographic evidence ..... Was I going to stand in front of the person and take a picture ,No !!!! If anybody else knows who the person is then they will understand why I don't want to stand in front of said person and take a picture !!!!!!! I am a dog owner and always clean up , I've even given bags to people over the back fence when they have "accidentally " forgotten to bring theirs . New road area I've given up on pointless trying when the council won't cooperate !!!! |

It's actually depressing me and making me hate where I live! It's disgusting and highly embarrassing. It's making me want to move! All because someone is too bone idle to clean up after their dog. If you're not prepared to pick up it's poo then don't get a dog!! It's also letting down all the responsible dog owners who pick up their dogs poo! |

Sadly, this problem is rife. Go along any street in Silsden and this seems to be the norm. As a dog walker I get thoroughly incensed at the lack of thought of some dog owners. I have said before on here, if people can't be responsible owners, don't have a dog, also it's your dog, you feed it, it's your muck. Talking to another dog walker last week about this, he told me about someone we know who is blind, who caught a faeces germ that caused the blindness. How far that is true I cannot verify, but the person that told me was adamant. How many times have we seen folks dogs pooing, only for the owner to have a quick glance round to see if they have been seen. Invariably, if no one about, they leave it, if they are seen they will make some sort of pathetic gesture of finding a bag. An awful lot of folk do pick up, the bins provide evidence of this, and well done to them, it's the lazy so and so's that let the side down. |

I know it's a widespread problem but the new road/tufton/hothfield area is by far the worst I've seen for it! I've just counted 24 poos on the way up from Kirkgate to the school gates! |

Apparently Southport council have the same problem that Silsden has , litter droppers and dog poo , they are going to employ a external company that would patrol undercover and record the transgressors and issue them with a on the spot fine of £75.00 , of which can be reduced to £50.00 if paid within 14 days . |

I walked my dog in the park at dinner time,someone had left their dogs mess right in the middle of the footbridge coming out of the park.It's not difficult to clean it up,I always do after mine but I'm sorry,I'm not cleaning up after someone else's,if it was on the street,outside my house I would. It's people like that who give responsible owners a bad name,I don't know the answer to the problem,but as said in earlier posts if you do know the people who allow this to happen,please report them. |

Sadly nobody seems to have read my post properly .... I know one person who walks her dog the same route every day I've witnessed her dog pooing maybe 10 - 15 times . I know her name her address and what sort of dog she has . I contacted the council who basically said without photographic evidence or a pcso or dog warden witnessing first hand they could do nothing !! I'm not prepared to stand there and take photos and cause problems for myself ! |

Ok then what street does he live why not pop a note through his door telling him that people knows his antics and if he doesn't start cleaning up after the dog then things will be taken further ps you don't even have to sign the note |

I've actually given up ! I've tried the council don't want to know , the woman is not approachable (putting it as nice as possible I'm not sure if she has mental Health problems) I'm not putting myself in the situation where I need to take pictures of this woman . |

why don't you ask the pcso to visit you and you can tell him all about it then ask him to go and have a word with her, there is no need for her to know who had reported it.Alternatively a few people get together and go and speak to her, she can't be that scary surely? |

I live on Gloucester Avenue and I am a dog owner, but a responsible one who always picks up. People shouldnt have dogs if they cant be bothered to clean up after them. Every morning I have to check on the grassed area outside my house, because people think because its grass they dont have to pick up. I've passed details to Bradford Council of one particular person, so hopefully something might be done. |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) Set up some CCTV? I think you can get small systems fairly cheap now. Or even just put up a fake camera and a CCTV sign, it works for speed cameras. |

unfortunately its not just in the new road area i walk my little dog all over silsden and i notived there is about 10 piles of dog poo on the grass at the top of skipton road next to the gables nursing home last week i witnessed a young lad pick up his dogs poo from by where i live on hothfield street then dump the bag in the first ginnel its just everywhere you look i dont take my kids or my dog to the park anymore because its disgusting in there for it all |
