What time was this Gazzer, & whereabouts did it fly over. My wife & I took a walk down Gasworks Lane to 7Hills arriving there around 2.30pm, stood taking to people at the canal swing bridge around 2.45 until just after 3pm. Saw a helicopter go up the valley then back down when we were at 7Hills. No bomber to be seen or heard. Mystified!! |

We watched the Lancaster go over low at about 2.50 pm. The chopper shortly after. |

Well that must have been the quietest Lancaster ever, the drone of a Lancaster is quite distinctive. I was stood looking over at the Steeton Tower at that time, never saw or heard a thing. Except the helicopter. Is this a wind-up?? |

I was in the Co-op car park between 2.45 and 3pm when it flew over there. |

I have now sussed out what happened, At the precise moment the Lancaster went past we had to dive off the road in Gasworks Lane when a huge animal feed wagon passed by just as we approached the 7Hills entrance. That's where rumours, faction & fiction become confused. We neither saw nor heard the bomber. So apologies to all. |

I saw it today over Silsden, a bit back I was lucky enough to be having a flight lesson at lba when we were told the Lancaster was going to pass us left to right about 500 feet below. As it passed my instructor took on the person of a German fighter pilot and dive bombed it from above. What a beautiful machine.
