IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Topic : Pay Pal Scam |
|

I have just deleted an e-mail supposedly from pay pal, wanting me to log on to sort out a problem with my account, it must have been a scam, I do not have a pay pal account. Please take great care if you get this email. |

I get a refund from HMRC scam most weeks. One of the first test is if the e-mail starts with "Dear User" or "Dear sir/madam" then its a scam. For instance I got this "Dear Sir | Madam We have recently noticed some discrepancies in your tax return for the previous year. You are now due some refunds. We do not hold your payment details on record. Please press here to provide us with your settlement method Kindly allow 8-10 working days for refund to appear on your account. You have 10 working days from the receipt of this email to action the request. Sincerely Customer Support HMRC" Never ever press where it says "Press here" |
