Sorry to moan but its driving me nuts. I have never known anywhere with pavements so disgusting. South View terrace is covered in it.... anyone seen any culprits... i actually picked some up myself (not to keep) because i couldn't leave it there for kids to step in. I am very tempted to set up a 007 spy cam to catch the poopers in action. What can be done? |

It is also very bad on Ingsway, maybe its time people were shamed into picking up after their dogs.Get a group of people on stake out duty and catch them in the act, if they don't pick it up when confronted, name and shame posters in the shops! |

Could have a campaign...... CRAPPER SNAPPER Take pictures and have a list crimewatch style in post office. Joking apart, its probably only a few people making such a mess... the same person (dog i mean) can be responcible for all the mess on Southview .. if it persists i might have to waste some time stalking dog walkers. |

There's a certain person who never picks up her dog's poo all along Gloucester Avenue. I believe this can also be reported to the Council? Do we have to have the name of the "offender" or can we just follow them and tell the Council where they live? We always make sure we clean up after our pooch - after all, there's nothing worse than standing in it on the "just before bed" walk!! |

Sarah there are forms in the Post Office and Dogsbody's, the police do look through them, and ones identified have been contacted.
Just put whatever info you can on the form. |

It is not only the streets that these inconsiderate individuals mess up.The Green off Bradley Road is also covered in dog poo. Certain owners are letting their dogs relieve themselves there and not picking up as there are piles of the stuff all over. This must happen mostly under the cover of darkness,as during the day, from what I have seen, people do the decent thing.
The problem seems to have become worse since the Bonfire held there last year which has left the Green in a poor state with just a pile of earth and rubble covering the place where the fire was, and as such it is treated as just a waste ground. Besides dog poo there is also discarded beer bottles scattered by the local sub species. But I digress. Short of night patrols I don`t know what can be done to catch these irresponsible dog owners in the act. Certainly if the gala commitee want to use the Green for the fair this summer, there will be a big clean up operation needed. |

OMG how much more poo could there be today, just in time for half term and little childrens feet.
i dont see loads of roaming dogs making incognito protests during the night, so i assume these poo's come from the bottoms of dogs being walked.
elliot street today (the route i thought i would take to dodge south view terrace)...
when i ever see anyone actually in the act i feel sorry for them cos' i will be so enraged i'll make a right fool of myself! |

if all the crisp packets thrown on the floor down the streat and off roads were put into bins and dog muck picked up Silsden will not look like an off shoot of Keighley |

Cant say ive really noticed crisp packets chips yes i know the town hall is used for karate/majorettes etc could stc not put in place a program to teach the silsden youths that when you buy your fries from the take away your supposed to eat them 1 by 1 or if greedy a few at a time
throwing the whole bag of fries in the direction of your face and hoping they all go in (resulting in most landing on the pavement) is not the most efficiant way to eat them
daisy mutt loves them but i dont like her eating stuff of the floor
early hours of the weekend i cant walk her up the main street as its a minefield of broken bottles and food fight amunition |

Why do we always blame the youths?
Do the drunks not eat the chips?
Do the youths walk their dogs to poo all over the pavements? |

and the broken bottles 'pumbajunior'?
My point is that we always blame the youths first in this town.
By the way lots of kids walk the dogs on our estate, including my own kids, and clean up after them! |

Yup the broken bottles are most likely older people though once again i doubt there are many 40 year old blokes that smash beer bottles up and down the main street (most people of that sort of age tend to drink pints)
have you not seen the kids going round the streets with a bag of beer bottles alan i have on many occasions (im not saying these kids are the culprits though)
agreed babba i would rather stand in chips than poo (the poo that my dog produces i bag and bin) but i have to clean up the sick when she eats something off the floor that doesnt agree with her |

Seen plenty of older ones stood outside pubs with bottles and cigarettes.
My money is on them for the culprits! |

Take a walk in the park, around the area of the skate park.
See the broken glass on the skate area, the large wall stone pulled out of the wall, the glass on the tennis courts, the litter everywhere and then tell me this was caused by adults.
This week is half term, the park is full of children, how many people have to go to hospital for cuts and dogs to the vet before this behavior is stopped? |

Don't disagree at all 'Fred'.
But it still doesn't excuse the adults who should know better and leave broken bottles outside pubs and let their dogs mess wherever they feel like it!
Perhaps the parents should lead by example! |

I spent a good half hour talking to a ranger in the park about the litter on tuesday, and how we could try and improve the state of the park, because I have to say I felt thoroughly ashamed when I saw the mess.He told me it's like that on a daily basis, and whilst we were there, there was a council cleaner picking up.So i went back yesterday... and guess what? he's right just as bad. they've tried more bins but someone set fire to them.Again there was a council employee cleaning up.....perhaps we should organise a park clean up before the beck clean up? |

Perhaps the PCSO's could get the names of those that do it and get their parents to clean up!
Or, to return to the thread, those that allow their dogs to mess and rub their noses in it. The owners NOT the dogs! |

I have 2 small children i take to the park regular (and walk about town with) i cant tell you how close my children have been to seriously cutting themselves on glass and beer cans . AND all the poo poo left in grass and on paths.
We need help making the youths accountable for their actions...... digressing from the poo issue!

thought the council clean the park assomeone stated there is glass in the tennis courts and has been for a minimum of 3 weeks
yes alan i guess your right some of the bottles must be adult related especially ones near pubs as far as ive seen silsden doesnt have underage drinkers in the pubs so those must be adult bottles but yup the glass by the skate park id say would be underage drinkers
im all for rubbing dog owners noses in the shit they dont pick up as a dog owner it wouldnt affesct me as i always without fail bag it n bin it |

This poo business is serious. Skipton Road is like a mine field. I have posted forms at dogs body shop and the post office nothing seems to get done still piles of poo. Phoned dog wardens was told there are only 5 wardens to patrol all Bradford Met Silsden has no chance as usual |

The trouble, "Shazza", is that there is so little enforcement of low level offences these days that those totally irresponsible people do not care.
I was in Aireville Park on Sunday when some OAP stopped with his dog right behind us on the path and let his dog perform on the grass where kids were playing, then went to walk off. We had a discussion , thats the only way to deal with these selfish clowns! |

You've trained your dog to poo in the river? Well done that must have been really hard to do.... would it not have been easier just to put it in a bag? |
