Late on Friday night we saw a strange light in the sky behind the clouds. It moved back & forward at great speed, no other light visible in the sky, did anyone else see it? |

Yes, i saw this bright but blurry light moving rapidly across the sky to the south of Silsden at about 10.30PM it was still there in the early hours. It was about 30 degrees above the horizon & was obscured by lower cloud as it moved backward & forward. I thought at first that it was a searchlight or laser but there was no light coming up from the ground & no sound of aircraft. Very odd!! |

Its been there a couple of nights,according to weatherman Paul Hudson uts meant to be part of the northern lights and we are seeing it so far south due to unusual athmospheric conditions. |

I have also seen this light, I think you will find it is coming from the fair which is in victoria park Keighley. |

so late at night at the weekend their is a blurry light in the sky the pubs of silsden must be doing good trade  |

We saw it lastnight from about 9.30pm. From our back garden it appeared to swing back and forth between the hill side over Steeton and Long lee. UFOs ??? |

Spotlight from the fair in Keighley would be my guess. It was reflecting from underneath the clouds. |

We noticed it for the first time last night. Just as Mickeyfin said, with no beam visible from the ground.......!! |

We saw it too, thought it was a laser or something but no beam seen from the ground, it was moving too quickly to be a helicopter and the shape seemed to be too regular and circular to be the Northern Lights. I think an obscured beam from the fairground in Keighley seems most likely. Was quite exiting to see though. |

Thanks gazzer for posting the spotthestation website. I hadn't known about it. I have just been most impressed watching it pass from west to east for 6 minutes on this beautifully clear evening. |
