A lot of Yorshire farmers are giving up dairy production because they get less for their milk than it costs to produce, crazy. Get ready to drink foreign milk, that's where it will come from in years to come.

same happened to the car and coal industry it was cheaper to ship coal from aus/n.zealand in the end, and most british firms that are left operating here are foreign owned, we will av nothing left before long so what do we do, if we buy british it costs about 50% more, you ask for british produce they hav`nt got it,theres only morrisons that advertise british meat.sad state of affairs.sad :(sad :(sad :( ps, yes i use cobbydale fruit and veg as well, if he a`int got it in he gets it for next day, super service

The price of milk has gone up, I for one have decided for the time being to absorb the price rise; It now costs me 10p more per 2litres of milk.

What amazes me though is how the supermarkets have the cheek to increase the price by 20p or more when they themselves(being a supermarket means cheaper prices as they buy in big volumes) are/may be facing a rise of only 2-4p.... scandelous....

I wonder how much the co-op are selling it for now... I may pop in and have a look... the last time i went to price check their prices were double if not more on most of the fruit and veg so i didnt bother going back....happy :)

Earlier this year the price of milk in the Co-op and Tesco - don't know about other places - was £1.53 for 2 litres then it dropped and now it's gone back up again.
