Localman... When someone puts in a complaint to the police about a forum having racist comments on it they knock on the door of the forum owner... In that case Peter has every right to delete such content. If you want to tout your single minded, racist, bigoted views then start your own forum. |

sorry I have the right of reply fact I am not a racist please note calling someone a jew can not be racist as judaism is a religion not a race please note jewish people use the term goyim to describe none jewish persons who they see as intellectually inferior to them. |

It is a crime in the UK to stir up hatred on the grounds of race OR religion. If anyone feels strong enough (I don't because I can just imagine the content and that's quite bad enough) to follow localman's Keighley facebook link above and finds it offensive they can google "Internet Hate Crime Report It True Vision" and take some action. We certainly don't want that action taken against silsden.net. Peter's got this right. Can't promise I'll always agree with him - but praise where praise is due! |

well, i thought i'd follow the link expecting to find beered up chavs peddling their bigoted nonsense but no - its a fairly dull page with not much debate or controversy - got fed up of scrolling back so maybe i missed something. So on balance i would say it is no more or less boring than here. Not really sure what Localman's point was. |

Localman, the Keighley site is hosted on Facebook, if you feel so strongly why not set up your own page for Silsden on Facebook. It's free and easy to do. It will be interesting to see how many "likes" you get. |

It may be defined as the hatred of one person by another -- or the belief that another person is less than human -- because of skin color, language, customs, place of birth or any factor that supposedly reveals the basic nature of that person. And please do not even for a second peddle this crap that people of Jewish origin use slanderous terms such as goyim, or believe they are any more superior to you or I. There are extremists in every race/religion available. You simply cannot imply that they as a whole group, hold those extreme views because I can assure you, they simply do not. Disgusting. |

Racism is ignorance. We are all members of the human race and it is generally agreed we are all descended from a tribe that left Africa a long time ago. What we call 'racism' is actually 'differenceism'. These differences came about and natural selection worked on the dispersing descendants of that tribe. It is generally reckoned the human race started off dark skinned. Those who went north away from the sun found that in the long run those with lighter skins survived better as the lighter skin absorbed more of the limited sunlight for the necessary vitamin production to ensure survival. If you want to be a true racist then you need to pick on another race ie. the race of dogs! cats! fish and so on. One member of the human race cannot really be racist to another member of the human race The whys and wherefores of different beliefs in various forms of mumbo jumbo and other unscientific nonsense is another ball game completely, but it cannot be racism. |

Erm you are right, sociologically and anthropologicaly racism is the wrong term however legally (and even Peter is not above the law and as such is legally responsible for stuff posted on this forum) and according to the CPS, racism is discrimination against "any group of people who are defined by reference to their race, colour, nationality (including citizenship) or ethnic or national origin" (from cps) |

Unfortunately we have to suffer the ignorance of those legal minds who create our yours. Racism is not the only word mis-used. The kilogramme is a unit of mass, not a unit of weight. But all weights and measure legislation uses the kilogramme. For those wondering - the correct international unit of weight (technically force of which weight is a common form) is the newton. So instead of 1kg it would be 10N. The newton being about ten times mass - on earth anyway. |

Regardless of whether the term is misused or not, Peter, you and I are all bound by the law and the legal definition of what racism is. I wouldn't stand up in court and try to defend myself saying that I was practising differentialism, I'd be laughed out of court! |
