Yippee Elliot street closed for 2 weeks from 7th August and gas works going on for 6 weeks Happy days |

Yes I saw the notice this morning, it does pose some questions. How much of the road is going to be closed at any one time? Are they going to ensure access for the health centre busses, and most important the fire service, at all times? |

These roadworks will be on multiple sites on Elliot Street, but in all cases it states "Although there may be some incursion into the road DELAYS WILL BE UNLIKELY" They are replacing metal pipe with plastic. I stopped at the red light on my motorbike this morning. One of the gas board guys shouted over that it was OK to go through on red if nothing was coming the other way !! |
