This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

"I have always believed that public transport should be heavily subsidised, especially in these days of alleged global warming wink wink ;)"

I think that global warming is an accepted fact. What is in dispute is whether it is part of the natural cycle or being helped along by pollution.

Personally I suspect a bit of both. Also it is a good idea to reduce the stuff we put into the atmosphere, which is why I am a pro-nuclear green. Same as Professor James Lovelace the originator of the Gaia concept.

Mainly by those who find it convenient to believe so. I think you will find 'wahiba' that there is a large body of opinion who believe otherwise!

Believe it is not happening - which I find difficult as I remember real cold winters with lots of snow twenty something years ago, or it a natural rather than man made phenomena?

I have only lived around here for 15 years and never had to dig the road out for the car. Where we lived in Morley there was a time in the late 70s early 80s when this was a regular annual occurence.

If the changes have been the same in this part of the world then something is happening.
