Topic : DOG POO! heads up! |
|
| poononga1 |
Just to let everyone know, I am the person that has put up all the new dog poo posters around the Aire View/School/Hothfield street area. This morning a little girl stood in dog crap and it went over her shoe and onto her socks. GRIM! So im gonna catch the idiots and im gonna post the crap back through the offenders letter boxes! Most people know who I am, so if anyone has any complaints, I will treat your complaint with the same respect that our views have had in the past! Please do not moan to me about the mess that any posters leave, if you see a poster that has fallen down, please pick it up and put it in the bin rather than leave and come on here moaning! Lee Taylor! |

Good luck with this Poononga1...but the PCSO's should be helping you, as they do in other council areas to implement the law, and dish out fines to the owners who don't clean up. Most dog owners do clean up, but some think they are above the law. Money has been spent in the past on t-shirts which could have been used for PCSO's to deal with it. |

The thing is catching them at it! Get your video cameras out everyone! lets get em! |

All of the Bradford council Street wardens have the power to issue tickets for dog fouling and littering, where are they? The PSCO's have a lot of other things to deal with besides dog poo. |

The PCSO's own website gives these as the powers of a PCSO:- Issuing of fixed penalty notices (e.g. riding on footpath; dog fouling; litter) Power to confiscate alcohol and tobacco Power to demand the name and address of a person acting in an anti-social manner Power of entry to save life or prevent damage Removal of abandoned vehicles Dog fouling is shown.....why is it there? Because it is part of their job, and a few large fines from them will show it is being taken seriously |

You could always use the posters to scrape it up from the footpath! |

quoteIf you a dog poo please pick it up and put it in a bin rather than coming on here and moaning .. Sorry couldn't resist lol Do you carry a pocketful of plastic poo bags around with you? I don't, and I have no intention of using my bare hands |

Lol just joking! Seriously though he can't complain about dog fouling and then tell everyone if anyone see his posters littering to just pick it and not moan about it? |
|

oh yeah, a typo. I was a bit stroppy when I wrote it. A Little update for you. I very nearly caught one of the idiots on Tuesday night. I am 100% sure this person is guilty, just gonna gather a bit of video and then its name and shame time! |

dexter, what have you got against the pcso's? |
|
| dexter |
quotedexter, what have you got against the pcso's? Absolutely nothing against them at all...I'm only trying to suggest a way of dealing with this problem. They are used in other council areas, with great success. I have never criticised the PCSO's in any way, they can only do what they are asked to do. |

Dexter; you have listed their powers given to them by the Chief constable under the police reform act, they undertake a multitude of other work, far to long to list here, the chances of them actually being near where a dog walker leaves the poo is minuscule, even if the walker intended to leave the poo they would probably pick it up with a pcso watching them. |

As I said, some councils take dog fouling more seriously than others www.gazette-news.co.uk/news/local/braintree/10247177.Witham__PCSO_patrols_to_stamp_out_dog_fouling/ www.ourbobby.com/EN/News/Details.aspx?n1=1&n2=8&nid=25679 www.theadvertisergroup.co.uk/Daily-News/Hitchin/North-Herts-Council-and-police-fight-dog-fouling-together-20130810090000.htm All I am saying is that while our PCSO's are busy, a concentrated effort and a few heavy fines would send out a message to the few people who abuse the community rules about dogs. Nothing else seems to work, why not try something else? |

found out this week that Craven D C have set up a scheme' Green Dog walkers' Qoute 'A friendly way to tackle dog fouling issues' - leave only footprints It sounds a good attempt however it probably will attract the 'educated 'dog walkers. At least Craven seem to be making an attempt to encourage communities acroos their area. |
