I vaguely remember this. In last weeks Craven Herald's look back feature it mentions that 25 years ago an election organised by Silsden Parish Council took place into leaving Bradmet and moving into Craven. A majority voted yes giving the council a mandate to look into it. Can anyone remember what happened next? |

I seem to remember an election having taken place. I have run a google search on it, to no effect. Plenty of information on current councillors, election results, but nothing relevant to this.
I think that it is a good idea in principle, but transferring to Craven could have financial implications, in that it doesn't have the financial clout that Bradford does (not that we see see the benefits of it).
On the flip side, I think that we would see a greater level of care from Craven than we see from BMDC The services that are provided to residents are of a higher standard than we are presently seeing from BMDC. |

The real benefits are being part of West Yorkshire, especially for public transport. As for Craven, well it is real Toryland. |

I think that council tax in Craven is much higher than Bradford Met, which is one of the cheapest in the country. Based on the same rate band. I think it's about 20% higher. Would we get any more for our money? |

I do understand money is important these days but so is value for money, which I do not think we get at present. |

BEWARE! The grass might look greener on the other side? But it isn’t when you look very closely at it. |

Through work I know about disabled facilities grants and North Yorkshire beat Bradmet on both number(%wise) and time waiting handsdown. Insured my car this week so just did a made up Skipton address and it was a little bit cheaper. What we get from Bradmet at the moment is as good as it will ever be and we will only get milked more and more. |

I bet the recycling teams in Craven don't operate in. Residential areas before 0700! What is the justification for that? If it was a private individual doing that, they would be prosecuted! What area did they go to before they came down here? |
