This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

I popped into the Coop today and whilst browsing the various pies in the chilled section I came across a Cornish Pasty (not literally) for 69p It was snack sized and cornish pasty shaped, top crimped not like the flat ones from Greggs, interesting I thoght so I had a look at the ingredients and they were in Spanish! Unusual I thought but on closer inspection I noticed the bloody thing had actually been made in Spain !!!!!!!!!

Surely the Coop could source a cheap Cornish pasty a bit nearer home or at least in the same country as Cornwall.

What next ? Yorkshire Puddings from Morrocco, Wensleydale Cheese from France or even Curry from India !

Suffice to say I did not buy the Cornish Tapas Pasty, I made a sarnie instead happy :)

Not very environmentally friendly either shipping it all the way from Spain!

And they make an issue of supplying only environmentally bags.

Sounds like double standards to me wink ;)
