i would like to thank the organisers of the proms for inviting myself and the deputy mayor to this very popular fundraising event, it is my fisrt time and i was amazed at how well it was attended, eveybody enjoying the 3 bands . the raffle and auction seemed to be a great success, we had a great time judging the best gazeebo,(no backhanders in brown envelopes though) we did however get some dodgy looking 50s from the cheshire set hope you raised loads for the church and manorlands again thanks to all concerned. |

a very worthy event but just one critisism, the fireworks were very late they kept me awake, maybe 11pm should be the shut down time, the music did not finish till 11-30 and fireworks went on till about 12-30 ! |

I have a feeling the fireworks were from the wedding held up at the golf club, they were not advertised at the "Proms" and fires of any sort are banned. |

maybe it wasn't the proms that were letting the fireworks off then.A few people have said they thought it might have been somewhere near the canal , whoever it was are very inconsiderate, they were not just normal fireworks they were massive bangs like bombs going off, not on at the best of times let alone so late at night. |

Don't know where the fireworks were on Saturday but definitely not at the golf club, my son is the steward. |

there you go two people both wrong and both pointing the finger in the wrong direction if you do not know the true facts then keep your nose out, blaming the wrong people can cause trouble |

... my god it was a saturday night it was not at the proms but some ones wedding ... Regulations are in place for a reason 'localman'... if people were allowed to let off fireworks whenever they liked we'd be having them going off all the time, what with birthdays, parties, weddings, retirement do's, etc...
Loud sudden bangs terrify most peoples pets (not just cats & dogs) and I've got to admit I hate being disturbed by them too - especially when they wake me up from a hard earned sleep.
It is very selfish for people to let off fireworks which go BANG in the middle of the night, can they not be a little less inconsiderate and just choose ones which give a colourful display! (If they're doing it illegally one would think they would want to be discrete and not cause annoyance to their neighbours) |

Offcumden, they are obviously too thick to be discrete just like localman! Spare a thought for the shift workers who have to get up early for work even on a Sunday morning. |

'localman' - or should it be 'localchild', your irresponsible attitude is just so immature. As it happens I've "got a life" - that's why I would like to have uninterrupted sleep and not be woken up and kept awake until about 12.30am by inconsiderate selfish persons who no doubt think they've 'got a life'. . |
