yipppeeeee at last weve made a start on the bandstand, hopefully it will be in place within a month  our local house builders p snell and sons were the first to offer their servicesmany thanks to them . |

Not alowed to answere the Bandstand moaners on the other thread,gotta come on here instead.STOP MOANING!!!!!!! The Bandsatand will be good for Silsden and if you want money spent on other stuff get off your whinging bums and raise the money for it!!  |

Let us wait and see how many bands actually play there over a 12 month period! Sounds like a shelter so the youngsters don't get wet! |

MOVED POSTS FROM THE RUNNING TRACK TOPIC - please keep topics separate.  localman please all note the new bandstand will make fantastic back drop for wedding photos for any one who is getting married in our three churchs and will be a wonderfull sight for visitors to our town plus a great venue for our local brass band well done all of you who have brought this about and keep up the bloody good work you do, you all deserve credit not criticism Spanish Omelette Without doubt Graham was a top bloke and a fine stalwart for Silsden principles. The only thing about the bandstand is that if it does not get used properly (i.e. for bands, singers etc) and gets abused by the hooligans of the town, it then may become an eye-sore and this would be very sad for the memory of Graham. |

at last we have put up the steelwork today and look forward to finishing within a month as long as the vollenteers keep turning up danny clark is going to do the flagging free of charge as long as we supply the flags and cement,lets hope a local building suppliers feel the urge to maybe donate sand or cement or even flags |

It's going to be lower down than I imagined it seems. I had something like the one in Myrtle park in mind. It will still be very nice no doubt. |

Skippy, when it is finnished, and you can get everybody together, are you planning some sort of naming event? If so please make sure everybody in Town are told about it in plenty of time to arrange to be there. |

Who's the guy I sometimes see playing bagpipes parked up at the top of Bradley road ? He can't by very good if his missus makes him go that far away. |

 Congratulations to all that have got the bandstand project to this stage.... BUT is it big enough? Will the full complement of Silsden Town Band be able to play ON the bandstand? |

I hate to put a downer on things but how long will it take before the local vandals get to work on the bandstand? I can see it becoming another hangout for the yobs. I hope they prove me wrong. |

right the bandstand will be officialy opened at 1pm on sat july 2nd. it is going to be named the graham inman memorial bandstand, in recognition off all grahams work for silsden. a most fitting tribute to such a great bloke. |
