‘New Conservative peer Howard Flight has issued an "unreserved" apology for saying child benefit changes would encourage the poor to "breed" "We're going to have a system where the middle classes are discouraged from breeding because it's jolly expensive."But for those on benefits, there is every incentive. Well, that's not very sensible." I downloaded that to be sure of my facts. This is the trouble with the conservatives. It's laughable. An off the cuff remark is what the person really believes and in an unguarded moment expresses. He's a raving Tory and there you have it. He has to apologise when overheard , but fingers crossed, only joking, sod you all. All you folk who fell for the Conservative line of 'we're all in it together... well, Mr Flight will be there to fight from the beaches, ooops sorry, silly me, the benches of the House of Lords, and from the bar and the restaurant and a bijou riverside apartment no doubt. In the meantime I hope you working class people stop making love now, or apply to the noble lord for advice on contraception. Do you really want to breed? |

hear, hear! I remember back in April & May there were all these people on here who were traditional Labour voters who were going to "switch sides" - mainly because Labour had become a bit rubbish, and if anything profligate with our taxes. Yes, they were a bit rubbish, but this current lot will never, ever change, despite the happy-clappy "fair" front they put on. Well, hope they're all happy now ! |

again twisting words he said people on benefits which means people who do not work or contribute in short wasters, you bring in the working class which by definition means they are working so the comment was not aimed at them |

What is the current definition of 'working class' nowadays? Does it mean they only have one house, two cars and take only two foreign holidays per year? |

Well I hope the labour party gets a grip of this now. I'll be reminding them that they lost the last election by pandering to the chattering classes. The Labour Party needs to remind itself who it represents... factory workers, building workers, office workers. Not the glitterati. Challenge the status quo. Thats what I want. Stand up to the bankers, the oil companies, the americans. Don't fall out, just sort it |

I work in a factory and I would never ever vote labour just look what they caused at Silentnight in the 80' the unions and labour did a good job there hundreds of men and women lost there jobs because they listed to a bunch of idiots, just like the miners did where's scargill now I will tell you in a big house with a big pension |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) What a load of old Tory Twaddle. The workers and the unions do not run the factorys, that is down to the owners and management. Because they were totally incompetent and useless the reaction from the unions was the result. Everything is now made in China because the workers in the UK are too expensive. Funny then that Germany, that is better off than us, makes an awful lot of stuff and pays decent wages into the bargain. Why? becasue the management over there does not treat the workforce like sh---, works with the unions and so productivity is good. anyone working in manufacturing in this country just hopes that they might be taken over by the Germans, the Japs, even the French or the Indians, anybody but the incompetent bunch of loons that have reduce the workshop of the world to the present state. Fortunately, as in everything, not every manufacturing company is like that. Most of those that were have gone to the wall anyhow. There is hope, but not while people still spout the old tory mantra 'it woz the unions wot dunnit' rather than realise it is the predecessors to the current bunch of hooray henries whom to many (not me) voted for. |

Old Lord What's-his-name isn't far wrong in what he says. Why should we pay for this idiot to continue to breed when he clearly isn't adding anything good to the genepool and can't keep it in his pants for 2 minutes. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1333784/Unemployed-father-10-Keith-Macdonald-having-4-children-engaged.html?ito=feeds-newsxml |

Now that does take the Michael, Perhaps they would be better paying for him the SNIP. Now he really is worthy of His Lordships comment. |

Germans and Japs oh come on the Germans got rid of all there wasters before and during the war in Japan wasters with out jobs are outcasts as for India people still root in dustbins and rubbish dumps for food to eat and to quote France with all the problems they have, you quote the unions in Germany well the unions in Germany work with there employers the unions here all they want is confrontation just look at there leaders money grabbing commies who screw all they can out of the honest workers so get real and talk sense you silly man as for the idiot with ten kids just shoot him. |
