I seem to recall from an earlier post that the delay in installing CCTV in Silsden was due to the removal of the traffic island in Kirkgate due to the road works. Well the island has now been reinstated but I can see no sight of a post to mount the camera on ! Does anybody know what is going on, are Brad Met going to come along and dig up a bit of the new island and stick a post in ? |

This is Bradford council we are talking about! They will not only have to dig up the new tarmac on the island, I won't be suprised to see them dig the road up as well, there doesn't appear to be any power supply to the island for either the CCTV or the keep left signs that should have been replaced. |

there is a kinda square metal box on the bottom side of the island with a hole in it im guessing thats for the cctv post |

Sorry Pumbajunior, the sqaure holes have now been filled with illuminated keep left / right signs. So no sign of a post for the CCTV |

Perhaps they forgot to order the hole for the post  Or maybe it'll come with one fixed to it. |

Good news Bradford seems to have found a hole! Two men were in it this morning they had with them a truck on it were two poles, the men went away without erecting said poles, only leaving a load of cones in the open hole. I suspect they were looking for the ducting that was supposedly laid when the road was done? |

It would appear I got all excited for nowt, the hole is still there with a few cones dumped in it, the poles I saw were new lamp posts which have been erected, one by Stefanos and the other one at the end of clog bridge, so there goes another one of our lamps we take power out of for the Christmas lights! I have been told by a worker for Bradford Met that the real reason for the long delay in us getting our C.C.T.V. up and working is that the control room down in Bradford have refused to take on any more work. Can the ward Councillors prove me wrong, by actually getting this system working? |

you couldn't make it up!! its a disgrace the length of time silsden has been waiting maybe some of our town councillors know what is really happening? Seemd to be quite a bit of blood by the bus stop on Bridge Street today (by cobbydale club) wondered whether there had been a fracas. maybe cctv up there would be good too |

Morrison utilities have started digging up outside the papershop/stefanos today to (as i understand) install the neccesary cablework for the CCTV, which should have been done when the culvert repairs were carried out. |

TEN MORE DAYS have gone past since they started digging, and it still isn't finished. Wonder if it will be done by the 2010 Bradford Elections when they all want photographing with the CCTV AGAIN!!! |

Alan! Don’t tell me you are getting cynical the last time I brought up this subject you told me to stop going on about it, that Bradford had it in hand, and we would get it shortly! We have been waiting for the last twenty months since they took our money, have they lost it in the Iceland bank? |

Not cynical grandad just fed up with being told things are happening and they don't! It's about time those numpties at City Hall controlled their staff! The time we have been waiting is a disgrace, no wonder the city is in such a state. The laughable thing is though we keep voting for them! |

sorry to disappoint you Alan, Australia have just stopped all immigration, even for highly talented and likeable people like you. They know how to deal with immigration, not like UK, and have a tough regime which keeps out potential troublemakers/terrorists (not you Alan, I hasten to add!) |

And even more bad news! the hole that was dug on the pavement has been filled with a new lampost! At least we will be able to see who is mugging us. |

Alan, Are you sure that is the correct answer? As somebody who actually goes into the town, I can advise that it would appear that they are replacing all of the lamposts from the bottom of the canal bridge reet up through the village, there is even a new one outside Darios that goes off when you walk past it. How scarey is that! It was my understanding that the pole for the CCTV would be mounted in the big square hole that is currently a public hazard on the bell square Island opposite the Bus Stop. Unless you know better !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Because the depth to the top of the culvert was too shallow.......... oh dear, what a shame.......... |

Alan, if they are not using the island, then why are they working on making a base for the pole? I believe that the culvert doesn’t run under the island, the only reason it was removed during the culvert work was to allow traffic to flow around the working area. |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) Did you ask them then grandad? Is that what they told you? I've really lost interest in CCTV, it's become a joke. I would even be surprised if it's monitored when it's in anyway! If it is the plods won't do anything anyway! |
