I see that the newsagent at bottom of briggate have applied for a license to sell alcohol till 11pm at night, I wonder if they will get permission! |

Fantastic news.Many a time it gets to 10-45pm and I think to myself "where can I get a drink at this time of night" Seriously we already have off licences and the Co-op is just a short walk away...do we need another. |

A standard alcohol licence is until 11pm - it does not mean the user intends to use it until 11pm. However, i have no idea what they intend to do. Good luck to them either way, i don't see the problem. |

I'm not naming any names or pointing any fingers but where do kids get their booze from? I don't think it's the Co-op, I've seen Co-op staff challenge people for ID lots of times and it's no money out of the staff members' pocket if they don't sell to underage customers. Can't say that for most independently owned off-licenses. |

Within the newish licensing act there is no longer standard hours, you ask for what you want and Brad Met considers your request |
