Just wanted to say that just been to the Grouse for a meal and have to say it was top notch. The lasses in there were great and really helpful and the food was really good and reasonably proced. Good to have some quality in town. Will be back !!! |

we went last weekend & it was sadly very quiet with only 7 tables. i can't see them surviving long with that level of activity which would be a huge shame. We need a decent restaurant in town |

Its true we do - but I wasn't impressed the two times I've been. The service has been lacking and the food ok but unimpressive. I also fin dthe drinks very expensive- its a shame but folk won't use it if its not good value for money. |

i don't think the prices are bad but that was our feeling too - nice enough but nothing to make us rush back. Maybe if there was more of an atmosphere it would have felt different |

tried the grouse last night, all the tables except one were occupied by the time we left.The menu is a bit odd and I must say the food was not the best I have had I don't think I would go again.The food was much better when it first opened(before it became an italian)the atmosphere was lively but the decor makes it seem very dark |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) We like the Grouse, I do think the menu could be better in the fact that they continue to use strong cheeses in a lot of their dishes and there is not a lot of healthy dishes, lots of lamb, but eveything has either stilton or blue cheese in the meat or in the sauce. The chef is good. For me, just cut out the strong cheese as some of the dishes I like but can't eat due to the strong cheese. It's a lovely setting and I think we are lucky to have you here. |

Three of us ate here last week and all enjoyed completely different choices. As for the cheese, stilton in 1 vegetarian option starter and in apple sauce with pork, which they would happily omit and did for the starter and again in 1 vegetarian option - hardly excessive. We will certainly eat here again and think it is a great asset for Silsden. |

Yeah just been in tonight and they have already taken out the blue cheese in a lot of dishes, being a regular "every" week, I mentioned this face to face and to be fair, they have listened. Had two fab meals tonight venison, very good. I love it here. They don't rush you away from your table so don't be offended if if have to ask for the bill. Keep supporting them! |

went to the grouse last night, although found the food was lovely, i found the service disgusting... the staff were rude, they had both toilets leaking and when we made the problem known to them we got our heads bitten off, after we paid we didnt even get our change from our bill, even though we would of left a tip, it would of been nice to of had the option. such a shame because the food was lovely but wont be returning. |

We have been to the grouse now many times, and at first was really impressed and recommended it to everyone. However the last couple of times we have been we were very dissapointed, We have found the service poor and like others have said, rude, also I lost count on how many things they had run out of and the food has also been undercooked. Im not here to slag them off but come on grouse get in to gear before people stop coming!! |

In response to above, that's great to hear, Silsden deserves a good restaurant i really hope it does improve as we were disappointed when we went at the weekend. |

hopefully they will change the menu for something a bit more healthy and less complicated, there were a lot of diches which initially sounded ok but were spoilt by the addition of strange combinations of sauce or risotto which did not really work.The potatoes we were served were in their skins and burnt black and the veg was very insipid and tasted strange.The fish I had was minute but came with a pile of stodgy sickly risotto which I had to leave.Maybe more simple fresh fish(the one I had was definitely past its best)and more interesting vegetarian dishes and lighter starters. |

I have read all the comments and to be honest I can't fault the Grouse. We have just been there for a meal (as we have done many times since it opened) and yet again it didn't fail to please us. I find the staff very attentive, the food excellent and the early bird offer is good value for money. We have finally got an excellent restaurant, that sells good english food....let's use it, so we don't lose it! |

Just returned home after yet another very enjoyable meal with friends at The Grouse. The food was excellent, extremely tasty, the service timely and efficient, the staff were friendly and helpful. I think it is brilliant value for money and will shortly be joining weight watchers to combat the extra inches I am acquiring in all the wrong places!!!! I think we are lucky to have a restaurant of such calibre in Silsden. Highly recommended. |

My wife and I had our first meal at The Grouse last night and I have to say I was astounded to hear of negative comments. The meal was excellent, the staff courteous and keen to provide quality service. We will certainly be going again. We wish the restaurant every success. |

1st ever visit to the Grouse for Sunday lunch. The food was superb as was the service and the whole menu was on offer. Sweets were to die for. Will definetly go back. |

Since weekend, the menu has changed and should suit most tastes. The stuffed chicken on a bed of tomato pasta was excellent. Lots more choice for vegetarians too, also a specials board. Girls and chef very pleasant and service fast. Very pleased with this restaurant. |

Went to Grouse for the 1st time yesterday and I have to say that the food was excellent & all the staff were polite & attentive. Would certainly recommend.  |

Myself, family & friends have been 4 times now & every time the food has been superb The early bird is fantastic value for money. All locally sourced food and top quality Try it !!!! |
