Other half just taken a call supposedly from Microsoft, we had downloaded something. Lots of back ground noise, poor line. Other half on the ball, told him he was a lying scum bag and where to go, then put the phone down. So please, be aware and don't be taken in by these opportunists. |

If in a rush put the phone down. If not, let them ramble on. I told one I was using Linux and he had no idea what I was talking about so obviously while from India they obviously do not employ the brightest cookies. Anyhow when none of his suggestions worked I was given a web site address. Certainly gave them no contact information and once he had gone I checked out the web site. Interestingly quite open. Software - at a price - to fix you Windows problem. Some might try to infect your computer but most are just trying to flog programmes that do what windows will do for free anyhow. Anyhow, there was also an address in Bangalore - so if one rings again let them prattle on and then ask about the weather in Bangalore! There is little point being rude to these people. All they are trying to do is earn in a week what in real terms is a lot less than the minimum state pension. An exception can be made for crooked share sellers - boiler houses - and land banks. Feel free to use Anglo Saxon with them. |

BE WARNED !! This scam cost me £67 and locked my computer !! so I phoned Computer Universe they were so helpful and called within an hour of phoning,plus no technical jargon or sales talk,they explained why it would need to go into their workshop for repair,I asked what computer they would recommend and the cost for a new one,after being asked what I mainly used it for and told me why they would recommend a Samsung for my needs and gave me a price saying and I quote "LETS SEE WHAT WE CAN DO WITH THIS ONE FIRST" needless to say I ordered the Samsung and will use the old one as a backup !! WHY DO I WRITE THIS ?? Because the help, expertise in setting up my new computer and knowing that I have a full backup coupled with good old-fashioned service from a local Silsden business that is second to none!! you may like to know it cost £10 less plus p&p on Amazon and a £100 more at Argos, both with no setup !! We all should use our local businesses & tradesmen because they take a pride in what they do and guard their reputation and will not rip you off !! Thank you for reading,Lets all trade local !! |

I agree.... Computer Universe are excellent......Very helpful and will do the best to keep costs down. Highly recommended. |
