IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

I still not sure what you mean. These are all the forum areas www.silsden.net/forum/philboard.asp when you start a new topic you should select an appropriate area to post/start the topic.

Unfortunately not everyone starts topics in the appropriate section, while this doesn't seem to have any consequences for regular users of the forum (they use the latest link) which doesn't show the section until you click on the subject heading, but it is a problem for new users of the forum.

New users of the forum go to the correct section for what they are looking for, NOT 'the latest posts' a look through the EVENTS / ANNOUNCEMENTS / MEETINGS section index ( www.silsden.net/forum/philboard_forum.asp?forumid=14 ) will show how miss posted subject/topics can waste time for new users. As you can see some inappropriate topics (for the area) do get posted.

Another area which seems to give problems is the FOR SALE / WANTED section. This was set up for you to sale items and request items, but frequently it is used for example, wanting a plumber - shouldn't this be posted in the 'I'm looking...' for section?

Any suggestion to make the forum more friendly is welcome but please don't suggest a different forum like phpBB etc. cos it ain't gonna happen!
