Has anybody got a copy i can borrow as my laptop tried flying  and crash landed and did its hard drive so ive put a new one in but need a copy i have that long number to make it work. |

Hi in case you can't borrow a copy of windows 7 - you might be able to get one off the internet. Or I believe Computer Universe on Briggate - down from Cafe Cake should be able to do it for you. I had to get a copy of windows 7 a couple of years back and they were very good. |

They want £80 for a copy and £45 to fit it i can do it my self and im not paying £80 for a copy |

Gosh, that sounds expensive. Do a google search. I think it is possible to get a copy for a tenner or so online. |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) Hi guys, I spoke to my colleague about this and the request was for a full copy of windows 7 plus a licence key as he did not have one, the high cost comes from the licence key sadly, the disk itself is fairly worthless but that bit of paper with the number is where all the value is. We would make next-to nothing on that Windows 7 sale profit-wise, it simply has that cost. We cannot cross any legal ground (piracy / providing copyrighted software), it is just not worth it as a small business, it could ruin us! The £45 is variable, its often less depending on the work required, normally we have to copy peoples data across (which can take a lot of time sometimes), then spend hours doing the updates, drivers, security and making sure it all working correctly, so you are paying for a service which takes a lot of time to do to a professional standard. A standard install with no extra work would probably set you back £30-£35, that is absolutely in-line or cheaper than any of our competition. |

I did say i had the license key its on the back off my laptop and a new hard drive i also know you have to make a shiling but this is silsden I take it you have not met doggy if you think im tight Anyhow thanks for the reply ill find a way then im selling this laptop its not 12mth old yet should have got one off you lot |
