IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

From the T & A 6:00am Monday 11th November 2013

Countryside could be saved with more homes built in city centre

Large areas of the district’s countryside could be saved from being blighted by development, with more houses being built in Bradford city centre, after a major planning re-think at Bradford Council.....

Silsden would get 1,000 homes, with the creation of Silsden Business Park.

Walking and cycling links would be created to Silsden and Steeton railway and bus stations. There would be 700 new homes in Steeton and Eastburn, with community facilities and “high-quality” employment areas..........

Spot on! Add the fact that when fields/woodlands are built upon, they can NEVER be fully restored to their original state.

So in a 3 mile radius that includes Steeton and Eastburn we get 1,700 new houses and a business park whilst from Addingham to Menston some 10 miles in radius they get 1,600 new houses!!!!!!!!!!!
