Was wondering what had happened. The helicopter went away empty, the patient was taken in a normal ambulance. There didnt seem to be any rush so hopefullybshe wasnt badly hurt

I was walking that way when it was going on...I hope she's ok too, the idiot farmer was a bit stressed tho. I was out with my dog and first he threatened to shoot her.... Then said if I came in his field (I was on the public footpath I must add) he would also shoot me! Great that's all I need |

Would someone clarify exactly which path we are talking about please. We often walk our dog up there, and if there is likely to be any hassle we will avoid it.
The path we use is from the small gate at the junction of Aireville Mount and Middleway, it goes up a fenced off path to the back of Drabble House Farm and then across the field to the ladder stile and over the wall onto Hawber Lane. This has always confused us because my O.S. map shows the path actually going through the farm yard and onto the road near Terry's Tyres. |

It was the field immediately to the left of the farm, so the one you would walk through to get to the ladder stile onto the lane.
Can anyone confirm if the walker had a sog with her? We walk those paths all the time and the cows are never threatening, even when they have calves. I know the farmer can be a bit of a hot head and is very quick to pull people up if they dont have dogs restrained but maybe this is some justification |

pgp001 the information I have is, a woman walking a dog on a lead on a public footpath at around 1-30 yesterday was hurt by a herd of cows including a bull and some calves. The field is the one from the barn at Hawber cote lane towards Drabble house farmhouse stopping at the junction with the footpath from Banklands lane. Shortly before the incident the farmer was cutting the grass in the field with his tractor and this could have spooked the animals. I would like to say that I do not think there is any justification for some of the comments about what happened to this poor woman. |

only if the dog was loose and attacking the livestock, if your walking thru a field with the dog on a lead, then no the farmer cant shoot it |

Great that's all I need Making threats to kill, is a criminal offence! this should be reported to the Police especially if he had a gun with him at the time. Also if you felt in fear by what he said that is also an assault which should be reported. |
