Anyone any experience of South Craven, Aireville, or Upper Wharfdale schools for support of dyslexic kids?
Or suggest any other schools that kids from Silsden might possibly attend that have a good track record of support?

Iknow that South Craven School have a strong enphasis on supporting children with additional needs.... why not give them a phone call and talk with the teaching staff responcible for the support.... (SEN contact).... that might answer some of your questions x |

Already been, talked to, and been shown round by the SEN coordinator, but it's a BIG school . . . just wondering how they cope, or how kids cope really. And if other schools, maybe a little smaller, might just be a little nicer? Plus I think they are full this year, meaning the other schools come into play - but know very little about any of them.

Hi, I work at Upper Wharfedale, we have a fully inclusive school and a brilliant dyslexic unit, we just had open evening but give office a ring and arrange a visit, always welcome. It is a fab school |

I know someone who went through South Craven and only found out they were dyslexic on starting further education |

Upper Wharfedale looks fantastic for him but getting there is complicated. He'd have to get a taxi to catch the school bus in Skipton and get 2 buses home I think.
South Craven was not welcoming!
Aireville is looking good but I need reassurance! Again, not sure yet about how to get there. Possibly Bradford will pay for a bus pass as south craven is full.
Also the curriculum I imagine is broader at Aireville as it's larger.
Has anyone got recent or current experience of Aireville?

When I left Aire View School in the early 60s, every child could read, write and punctuate. Miss Clark saw to that. What's gone wrong? |
