UPDATE (from The Keighley News) Homes were evacuated in Steeton today following the discovery of an unexploded First World War bomb. Police were alerted at 11.15am after the device was found in an outbuilding at Summerhill Drive. An exclusion zone was put in place and residents in 20 neighbouring houses evacuated. A bomb disposal team was called in and carried out a controlled explosion in a nearby field. Police said residents were evacuated for about three hours. |

this post has been edited 2 time(s) Thank you very much greengrass you nearly got my boxer shorts blown off the 401b bomb was in your mate Ian's shed who we moved to Carnforth i phoned him up last night and he said he just thought it was a dead one bloody good job i did not have any room left in my van for it, He was going to take it with him otherwise, He said we were welcome to have it for scrap and could call back for it but it was a long day and the price of scrap was down at the time so we decided to leave it. That would have caused a few problems for Kevin down at the scrap yard when he tryed to pick it up with the grab. Ps greengrass please don't phone me next time one of your mates wants moving especially them that use 401b live bombs for a door stop and an anvil |
