EDL will march in keighley on august the 4th that should stir things up a bit, the reason for the march is the arrest of 8 stanleys for kiddy fiddling not the first time this has happened in keighley but as is the norm anne cryer is sticking her big nose in. |

you are right about the EDL forming conclusions to suit the cause...from their own site they say this; "Muslim grooming gangs have been allowed to roam the streets of Yorkshire unchecked, preying on young and vulnerable girls. The Yorkshire divisions of the English Defence League are organising a regional protest in Keighley on 4 August 2012" As most men are the perpetrators of sex crime, I suppose any women group could state "All men should be locked up" It's easy to make things up, eh? |

so it did not happen? so we can not say a word about people who beat there wifes, honour kill there children, groom children deal drugs and preach hatred towards britain but put there hand out for benefits etc without offending the pc brigade well tuff i will say my piece when i think i should. |

The fact that people fear discussion of the subject for fear of being labled racist has led to the growth of the EDL. Its a pity that the EDL and equally violent anti fascist group that will turn up are allowed publicity. We dont need demos but we do need discussion. Will they be marching for the "Cononly man who had child porn pictures?" or the man from Keighley who bombarded girl with sex texts? Both of these are white, Or the grandad who lives on your street that mollests his grand children or the white stepdad who prays on his vulnerable step son? Just saying!!!! |

No localman, I am not a do gooder and I do believe in people being punished for their wrongdoing but what I don't agree with is tarring everyone with the same brush. For example small towns / villages are well known for breeding small minded people, but I wouldn't dream for a minute to assume you are one of those! What I also don't get and please forgive my ignorance but what good can possibly come of this small minded party marching in keighley and stirring up unnecessary trouble. If they are protesting over pedophiles and child abusers in general I'm all for that and would quite happily join, but when it it is quite obvious that it is race related I am disgusted. As for them moving net door to us, how do you know one doesn't live next door to you or the bloke you say good morning to or the one who delivers you post? You don't, unfortunately they don't advertise what they are. |

Apart from anything else I take objection to localman saying "Ann Cryer is sticking her long nose in as usual". Regardless of your party politcal loyalty, she was a very active, courageous MP who risked unpopularity with Asian voters by speaking out against forced/cousin marriage and in favour of compulsory English language lessons etc etc. In the case of grooming, she worked hard and got a change in the law which allows girls' mothers to speak for them in court. Her past work will have led to T&A journalists asking her to comment on this case NOT the other way round. We do need more open discussion on this nasty issue (please check out gazzer's Julie Bindel link) What we don't need is an aggressive, racist EDL demo especially at a time when the country is hosting a multinational, multicultural Olympics. It is so easy for the EDL to inflame racial hatred for their own wider purposes but much, much harder for us all to work peacefully to make sure future victims are protected. Keep your eyes peeled. You are being used. OK this is more do gooder stuff. What would you prefer ----- do badders? |

paperclip...you are spot on about Ann Cryer. And the police are now beginning to tackle some of these issues head on, where they held back in the past. Let them get on with their job. We don't need more extremists on the streets. |

Dexter you are right in what you say, I would add that if the police didn’t have to deploy resources keeping the EDL and their opposite numbers apart at these demonstrations, then there would be more police out on the streets to detect and deter these and other crimes. |

The problem is that there has to be a balance between right to protest and protecting the public. Its a pity that a group of anti EDL protesters turn up because there would be less trouble and less police.And if the EDL dont turn up no police will be needed. Remember there were 7 anti EDL people arrested after a Dewsbury rally recently after guns were found in their car. This subject debate needs to be taken off the streets and discussed in a grown up manner. |

I'll venture to add to this discussion. In a news article some two weeks ago, the Baroness from Dewsbury said that her father had asked her to make a point in the press, since she was in a powerful position and Asian too. He said that SOME Asian men did look to find girls to groom for sex and that it was abhorrent to him the same as any normal man. The above was published in a broadsheet newspaper and rightly so. My only worry is that I had sent in the article it would not have been published. That is the downside of PC correctness. Lewis |
