it has free ducks and geese for greengrass !!! joking apart its a picturesque village if it were further up the dales its ford and stream running through it would make it a sunday run village which could support a hotel never mind takeaways and would be a buzy place even on sundays |

After letting off steam, I must really make amends and say that we love being here in Silsden. Will echo all the other thoughts that have been posted. What is also worth a mention, the bus service, road and rail links, a brilliant medical team, hospital down the road.( all the things to think about in old age!) and the easy access to some wonderful countryside, of which we have plenty locally. We also have a very good team of council people here, fighting our corner. How many places can boast the likes of our little town. Wonderful Northern Grit. |

We moved over to Silsden from Harrogate just over a year ago, so I did not have the 50 mile round trip to work in Skipton every day. I have done it for 21 years now and enough is enough.
We love it in Silsden..... Everyone is really amazed that we should find Silsden a MUCH better place to live than Harrogate, but it is.

Pumba, Do not knock a business unless you use it, In this credit crunchy time I would have thought that all Silsdeners even an offcumden like you Pumba, should pull together and support the local businesses |

Pumba was only trying a bit of humour............not bad for an offcumden! |
