is it possible to post pictures on this message board? i think it would be good for us to be able to post our pictures of silsden on here.. i'm sure people who no longer live round here would be interested in what the place looks like now. |

YES - read the HELP area on the messageboard. However the image you are inserting does have to be on some webspace somewhere i.e. you can't upload the image, only reference it from the message  |

Looked at that way of doing it. But, my idea would have been to have a sort of gallery of photos of Silsden that people could contribute to with a little write up/title. Sort of like the gallery that was done for the carnival. Over the years would prove an interesting record of the town and maybe of interest to potential visitors. |

However, it could not be a live application, you would have to be a send it in and I would then consider putting it on line. I have enough problems with monitoring this message board for abuse can you imagine what it would be like if the youth could post pictures! I would also like to respectfully remind users of the agreement they made before posting to this site www.silsden.net/forum/philboard_signup.asp I'm always happy to post local news articles on the news area - just email me the article, any included pictures must be the copyright of the individual or the organisation providing the press release. I would also like to remind organisations they can post local event information on "What's On in Silsden" FOR FREE - www.silsden.net/calendar2/default.asp Information on how to post your information is at the bottom of the page. WHY NOT STOP TREATING "THE YOUTHS" AS ENEMIES IN A WAR, YES THEY MAKE A MESS BY LEAVING CANS ETC.. BUT THEY ARE'NT BAD OR EVIL, THEY JUST THINK THE NEED TO HAVE A DRINK TO HAVE A GOOD TIME OUT, JUST LIKE I DID, AND I BET YOU DID. SOME NAIIVE AND PATRONISING PEOPLE THINK THAT COS THEY ARE YOUNG AND WITH A COUPLE OF FRIENDS THEY ARE AUTOMATICLY CAUSING BOTHER AND DRINKING ETC.. IT MAKES YOU SOUND AS THOUGH YOU DID'NT HAVE A LIFE BACK THEN THEREFORE YOUR JUST GONNA HAVE A POP AT "THE YOUTH" OF NOW. TREAT THEM AS YOUNG ADULTS GOING THROUGH A TRANSITION IN LIFE THAT SOMETIMES INVOLVES REBELLING SLIGHTLY AND TRYING ALCOHOL. I WAS A BIT OF A REBEL BUT I STILL THINK PEOPLE ARE PATHETIC FOR TAGGING THEM ALL THE SAME. THEY'LL NO DOUBT GROW UP BUT YOU'LL UNFORTUNATELY NO DOUBT BE SAYING THE SAME THINGS IN YEARS TO COME. |

May I remind you this message thread is about posting pictures on this website. The comment I made about youths was from first hand experience of administrating this message board. Generally the youth of Silsden are no better, or worse, than past generations and I agree it is very wrong to tar the majority of them with the misdemeanours of a few bored youth.....and VILLAGE IDIOT PLEASE DON'T SHOUT |

i agree with you that pictures posting may be abused if there was a free for all, i was just thinking it seemed to be every topic there was some remark about "the youth" thats all, i may have gone on a bit too much though, as i remember the prejudice. But Silsden Bull do you own the copyright to these pictures? From the urls they come from I would guess the answer is NO. The photographs I put on this website are taken by myself. If I do link to other pictures there is always a link to the original website or credit given to the owner of photograph/article. I get very upset when people use my photographs without permission. |

surely no harm is done, and they are not offensive pictures. obviously copyright is not owned by myself on these pics, but if you are willing to put pictures of ours which we email to you in the future then it will make for some more interesting pictures anyway.. |
