This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

this post has been edited 1 time(s)

After weeks of work on the property I see the plans have gone in for a hot food takeaway.
We dont need another hot food outlet there are enough places to get some food already. The nature of these mean people ring an order then go collect.I doubt they will be able to park nearby so will park oustside in Bolton Road.As if there isnt enough accidents at the Bell Sq junction.
A few years ago an application was made for a fish and chip shop on Kirgate. Can anybody point me in the direction of why that was turned down?

Hope if its passed they keep to hygine regs better than building.Any building project over six weeks comes under CDM regs and that site doesnt look like it does.

I was sure that at some time last year an application was put in for residential use, I have been trying to find it but no luck so far.Maybe I imagined it? No doubt if it is another takeaway people will park in punch bowl car park or outside Aire valley Insurance.I agree there are plenty of take aways in Silsden, personally I don't eat food from any takeaways so I am probably a bit biased

I doubt you could say to the planners our customers can use the private car park. The bottom of the Punch car park is actually council owned even though the Punch put up bollards but still not adequate for parking.
Its hopefull thinking that cars would park on Briggate.people will always abuse no parking restrictions outside takeaways or similar like cash machines.
I will be objecting. There are already about 12 hot food takeaways in Silsden

It's nice to see the building looking clean and free from the hordings which has hidden some very nice architectural features for as long as I can remember.

The developers obviously who care enough to make the area look better, perhaps it would be better to wait and see what happens. BTW I thought it was going to be residential and business.

It's all on the Bradford website, as is every planning application.
