This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Given the state of national finances, i am curious as to why Silsden Town Council is considering paying a subscription to SELRAP. Whilst I have nothing against railway enthusiasts or any other action group, I feel that money should be spent on progects closer to home.

As an allotment holder in Silsden, I am paying for rent and water. The allotment site has not had an operational water supply since mid December. We are still expected to pay for the water supply!!
The site is owned by Silsden Town Council, managed ( allegedly) by BMDC. Neither party will allow the allotment holders to undertake repair works to the site.

As for a 250 donation to West Yorkshire Crimestoppers fund, what do we pay the police to do?

Gamekeeper,to set the record straight S.T.C.donated £10 to S.E.L.R.A.P. and NOTHING to crimestoppers..S.T.C. do own the land that the Allotments are on and B.M.D.C.did take over the management when Silsden became part of B.M.D.C.so please do not blame S.T.C.and may I suggest you attend the council meeting or read the minites,so you do not place further misleading posts.Thank You

It is the group who want to re-open the rail line between Skipton and Colne.

Not a bad idea as it gives better access into Lancashire and the Manchester area.

EC. I have every intention of attending the next meeting. The figures I quote are from the minutes from 7 July points 11.2 and 11.3.. 11.2 is an annual subscription, therefore not a donation!!

Please note you are actually quoting from the agenda, items for the councillors to consider. The minutes are not yet in the public domain but will be posted on this site shortly
