this post has been edited 2 time(s) Well, Midway, shouldn’t you be telling us your opinion..given that you have posted it? If you really want my opinion then I would say it’s not acceptable. Not for the fact that the remembrance day cut outs are there either and covered over: they should have been removed by now! A christmas tree is a place to remember Jesus Christ and celebrate his birth. It is not really a place to have such cut outs: thats why we have a Cenotaph. So regarding the actual sign...pretty shit really. Why should the Town Council allow it to deface the joy of the Christmas tree. If its true that Harron Homes have given us money (S106) then that also is not a reason to allow this banner up. Everyone who gives S106 money will also want to do this..because they obviously think its good advertising for them. Even if they have given other monies to sponsor the lights or other then it is still not appropriate to deface our christmas spirit with advertising. The Town Council need to realign themselves if this crap carries on. An apology would be a start. |

The Town Council should not allow such a large Banner defacing the christmas spirit. A couple of logos a few feet square would have been sufficient! It is not a pretty site. |

Presumably someone negotiated this banner in return for sponsorship. Whoever that was I don't think has got a very good deal for the town to be honest. I would want gold plated Christmas lights for a banner that big. |

if they put up more money next year, why not ? Can't see the problem with a company wanting a little advertisement for sponsorship myself. if the siting was an issue for you, put your complaint in writing to the Town Council suggesting an alternative. |
