Hi Brent i thought we best move out of the street cleaner thread so ive started this one yes i think ive been through Bakersfield in 01 we did a 4000 mile road trip in 3 weeks from vegasto CA/NV/UT/CO/NM/AR and back to vegas we drove through Bakersfield on the first day i think (Vegas to SLO) planning on going back in a few years (wedding in vegas 2012 and honeymoon for 2 weeks in California) ive been to slo/monteray/san francisco/sacremento |

Hey PumbaJunior Good idea starting a new thread, but now I can't help but feel a little worried that the streets of Silsden will never be clean again  I'll have to keep up with the Street Cleaner forum so I can sleep at night If you drove from Vegas to SLO, you definately drove through Bakersfield. It's not a bad town as long as you're passing through only. We have the worst smog in the USA, there's nothing to do here but shop and eat, and the illegal immigrants are out of control. We actually moved here about 4 or 5 years ago from the SLO area -- a town called Pismo Beach. Loved it there, but the housing prices were crazy. My wife and I are both self-employed, so it took us a while to get on our feet. Now both our businesses are doing great, and we bought a new house last year. You said you were getting married in Vegas in 2012? Why so far off? If you don't mind me asking, what do you do there for work? Regards, Brent |

Yup i think we must have driven through bakersfield dont think we stopped we did stop at some place with a convienience store either side of the road a wrecker truck and a gas station (population 200) & we thought were are they theres nowhere for them to live yup i know of pismo beach but i havent been there its near morro bay (with the volcanic plug in the bay) the farmers market in SLO was cool (researched on the net) not getting married til 2012 as need time to save the cash im a computer operator/programmer with a local/international company if you want to contact me pumbajunior@msn.com |

Bakersfield? Isn't it mentioned in some pop song or other, or was their a Hells Angels riot there? Our immigrants are all legal (I think) and run: a curry restaurant, two Chinese takeaways, one Thai restaurant, one Italian restaurant and some other Italians cut my hair! Not forgetting the Poles, old and new and the Ukrainians, mostly old but probably a few new ones. Besides Bonapartes (ate there a few weeks before they filmed that programme. Let us say it was an interesting experience) Silsden is know as the home of the Lampkins of motorcycle trial fame. |

when we were going through it i think my dad was talking about a film with a boxer called the Bakersfield bleeder as he cut up easy when he was fighting (thats what he knew bakersfield for lol) |
