IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. There has been a planning permission notice on the front of the building for a few days now, but it is really hard to spot. So much so some local residents we discussed it with hwo pass it frequently had never even spotted it |

Funny not spotting the sign from the path. We spotted it driving past in the car. What is the very local feeling on the idea? The plan showing rear access and parking does not very inviting. In fact they are suggesting that any properties should be marketed to non car users - in this day and age seems wishful thinking. Seems a catch-22 though. If it is not viable as a Pub, what is it viable as,especially with poor parking. Maybe as a condition of going ahead they should acquire some of the land behind for parking for everyone using that access alley. |

Just reading some of the planning stuff. The transport report is unbelievable. Lots of stuff about trains, buses and cycles, even the width of the footbath into Kirkgate and a little bit about how few parking spaces there will be. One of the main selling points is Silsden's proximity to Leeds and Bradford!!! Anyone not famililar with the pub would, reading the planning stuff would think The Bridge was a massive dining pub not the drinking pub that did a few meals that it was. I reckon the developers have been given the nod seeing as they have bought it and done a lot of stripping out! |

As a resident on the area where this is it seems ludcirus that we need another 5 bed-sits, although I do live in a house myself, there are several flats and bedsits already and no parking, there are already some rsidents who own the land behind their property and choose to park behind there but the access is extremely narrow and there is very little room to turn you car once you are on the lane. Becuase of the number of residents in such a small area the lane is very busy with both car and foot traffic as it is. There have also been accidents with catrs coming and going into the traffic on keighley Road involving vehicles from the lane. I cannot see how if the get permission that they will sell to non car users, and there is defnitely not enough parking space and despite warnings and some ticketing people are still parking in the over taking zone on the bridge. I must admit it is an eyesore as the owners of the property are not maintaining the garden areas around the building but I am not sure I would like to see it turned into 5 seperate properties either. |

The planning officer posts a notice on the nearest lamppost / gate to the development, this is to make local residents aware that a planning application has been submitted. If you have any concerns you should make your views known to the planning authority when they will be taken into consideration when the application goes through planning. You will find a reference to the plans on the notice and you can submit your views online - for this application here www.planning4bradford.com/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=makeComment&keyVal=M42C4RDHC1000 |

quoteAs a resident on the area where this is it seems ludcirus that we need another 5 bed-sits, These are not bedsits where you might get a young non driving person but proper flats. 3 two bedroom and 2 one bedroom flats giving 8 bedrooms. You should be looking at 8 cars upwards not including visitors!!! |

I apologise I must have read it wrong, I thought it was 5 bedsits not flats. That makes it even worse. |
