Work on upgrading the ground for Silsden AFC is moving on and it looks like the club will play their first game back in Silsden on August 14th. This game will be against Crook Town in the FA CUP. |

Its not an all ticket game unless when the ground is graded a very low capacity is set. The new covered terrace is well on its way to being assembled and the floodlights will be in place tomorrow. So its pay on the gate. Not sure how much as im not sure yet what the minimum price The FA will set. Hope to see you down at the ground. |

Well the ground is coming on now. Tonight saw the new floodlights switched on for the first time. It is fantastic how the people of Silsden have helped the club get this far through donations, sponsorships and help in these hard times. If any companies not yet involved there are sponsorships still available starting at a season long programme advert for just £40. |

quoteAnyone know how much a season ticket is because I couldent find any info on the AFC web site.It was such a good game I intend to go regularly and support our team. Adult £80 - Concession (OAP & Under 18`s) £40 - Dad and Lad, or Lass, £100. This covers all league games but not cup games because the gate money is divided between the two teams |

gazzer...please tell victor how he can buy his season ticket, it would help him and others who might be interested. Can people buy by debit/credit card, for example? Might be good to get a local business to be the focal point for this if needed. |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) There are a number of people who travel the country visiting non league football grounds. This is a post someone has put on a website. "A delightful ground on the edge of the West Yorkshire town on which a lot of work has been done to get it fit for action. There is a new clubhouse which apparently cost 1 million and is shared with the cricket club who share the site, as well as a new concrete path which stretches all the way round the pitch. In addition their old stand has been refurbished and provides plenty of seating in three rows of wooden bench seating. Just beyond this is a new Atcost stand which looked identical to the ones in place at Arnold and Whitehaven. There were plenty of volunteers in place to make sure the day went smoothly and the programme was packed with interesting articles. We saw an excellent game between two well matched sides. Crook took the lead after a penalty was awarded midway through the first half for a deliberate handball on the line with the inevitable dismissal reducing Silsden to 10 men. Sometimes that ruins a game, but not today as Silsden made light of their numerical disadvantage to go 2-1 up midway through the second half after the referee awarded two penalties to the home team - the first one was saved with the rebound being hit home, and the second was scored by the player who had hit the rebound. Silsden missed two excellent breakaway opportunities to clinch it and sure enough Crook made them pay with an 86th minute equaliser. A cracking game on an excellent ground - well worth a visit!" |

It was a fantastic day - what a set up. We should all be very proud of what Silsden Football Club have achieved. Well done to all the hard workers for a job well done. You should all take a game in very soon. |

Silsden were knocked out of The FA Cup on Wednesday in controversial circumstances when Crook Town were awarded a goal even though the ball did not appear to cross the line. Silsden were denied extra time when the same linesman ruled out a late goal when he alone judged the Silsden Player to be offside. However Silsden were back to winning ways yesterday in the League with a one-nil win at Maine Road. |
