Yes its all part of the Brad met Plan, they are closing the Youth club closed our Public toilets, took away our Police closing the library, losing our flower beds, and now looking at a 2 weekly dustbin collection. We have lost our Bank, Losing our post office.
So its obvious BRAD MET ARE TAKING OUR TARMAC BACK ! WE WONT BE NEEDING IT ANY MORE WILL WE !. |

So who do you think is to blame for the road closure, the builder or Brad council ?. I know who will get the blame in some peoples blinkered eyes. |

According to Bradford Mets website its something and nothing but Bradford Met have put signs on the road saying the road will close.People are confused by the signs Bradford Met have put out.
Is the confusion caused by
A; The Builder B: Bradford Council |

SKIPTON ROAD WILL BE CLOSED FOR 3 WEEKS
I'm afraid the signs are correct and the roadworks website information is lacking. Skipton Road will be closed - on up from the Woodside Road junction for a period of 3 weeks while Bradford install 'road traffic calming measures' in the form of priority traffic management changes to the road layout.
Don't ask me how this is going to turn out in the end, we have managed to work it out for ourselves for years, but it's part of the planning consent for the new houses that were built - the traffic calming has to be in place before the houses can be occupied apparently!

There you go Victor, Bradford Council have the wrong info on their website so, just guessing that will be the fault of Bradford Council!!!
Interestingly Bradford Council leader Dave Green said on Radio Leeds..no new housing in Silsden until the road infrastructure is sorted....then changed from no building just to no occupancy...now he does not reply!! |

Yes the diversion signs are up and the road is closed. I hope nobody beyond this needs any emergency help. |

I used Skipton Road yesterday and I was not impressed by the signage and protrusions that now obstruct the road. I know it isn't quite finished but the alterations will only cause accidents.
It might look fine in the daylight, but at night when it's raining, I think you will be hard pressed to see the pavement now jutting into the road. If you are in a 4 x 4 you will bounce across the obstruction - no problem, if you are in a small car you will notice, if you are on a motorbike, or a bicycle, you will have an accident.

good point peter, but if you cant see you should be moving slower at a speed you can stop if anything is there, its like the man that said to the judge ,i hit him coming round the corner he was parked at the side of the road,,judges reply ,you should travel at a speed expecting all roads to be blocked going round a corner then you will be able to stop,so as usual any accident is caused by going too FAST. |

it is supposed to be a traffic calming measure so if you are going at the right speed, no problem |

Just like the one a few years ago coming down Bolton Road just above Brownbank, found to be profoundly dangerous, & consequently removed. |

They have put some white lines on the road today, it looks a bit safer, the give way for Woodside Rd is now further out so the sight line is better, and some lines for the stepped out kerb like the ones in Elliott St. Have to see how it goes. |
