That brings back memories of childhood pumba, long time since I've seen that happen.

We used to stand under it and pretend we were in an avalanche - well I was young at the time! happy :)

Did someone once get killed by snow coming off the roof of the kitchen shop on Elliott St bringing down cast iron gutters?

Most certainly is dodgy under foot. Had quite a few slips this morning getting out to the car. The main roads weren't too bad, but take care on road or on foot.

A walking stick makes a useful third leg.

I saw a few elderly people, possibly, like my mother in law to vain to use a walking stick, who were walking very gingerly. This is not the weather to be vain in. I do not need a walking stick normally, but it was very useful this morning.

Old tip - a pair of old woolly socks over the outside of your shoes/boots. You'll be quite surprised at the grip . . . and the strange looks from those not in the know.
