This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Do the workmen not understand the consequences of doing so? Can they not read the big signs all over saying 'No Smoking'?

You would be suprised how hard it is to ignite gas with a ciggy, it disperses too quickly to be dangerous even though you can smell it, trust me.

Even so, I'd rather they didn't run the risk, especially after they managed to blow our main street up last time.

I think what is equally as dangerous is when I came through from Ilkley yesterday the lights seemed a bit erratic, somtimes letting loads of folks through, then just letting a couple through.

Got to the bridge and the workman controlling the lights was chatting up and/or being chatted up by some dolly bird. The potnetial accidents he could have caused, with his lack of concentration on the task at hand by pressing the wrong buttons doesn't bare thinking about.
