IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Topic : Lost Money. |
|
| GRAMDAER |
Posted on behalf of a 11year old Silsden boy. This boy along with his sister and father went for a walk this afternoon. The route taken from their home in Bolton Road was up to the Tannery Corner, crossing the main road and up Brown Bank Lane to the stables on your right, immediately after there is a public footpath, which crosses fields and brings you out onto the road to Swartha. It was at this point that the boy realised that he had lost his Christmas Money(which was a substancial amount)and retraced his footsteps, but to no avail. Any information would be appreciated. Thank You. |

bit of a strange story why take a substantial amount of money out on a walk? I often walk up swartha and down brownbank lane, will keep my eyes peeled |
|
| GRAMDAER |
In reply "ginjo". This young lad thought the money would be far safer being taken for a walk rather than being left in an unoccupied house. Lesson to be learnt, now he is much wiser. Thanks for your help anyway. |

|
| GRAMDAER |
Thanks "dogcatcher". I've spoken to the lad's mother on the landline passing on your message. However, i have suggested that she signs up to the Silsden Net. Watch this space. |

There's a fiver from me aswell. Where is it being collected? |
|
| Keith Lemon |
Come on people, keep this alive..... where is the money being collected? I don't think this will spark a wave of bogus claims (like I assume all you sceptics are thinking!!) Take each one on it's own merit and chip in to help this lad out. He's not bought booze or drugs, he's lost his money!! If you lost your money on the way to the pub you'd expect someone to buy you a pint wouldn't you?? |

Hi everyone, Im said 11yr old boys mum & this is my 1st time so bare with me! Thanks very much to all of you who have offered to donate money - you are all very kind and have proved there are some good people out there still. As you can imagine its been an upsetting few days and I have done everything I can think of - going to Keighley Police station and Silsden post Office to report it in the hope someone might hand it in and I've also been in touch with Keighley News who are going to put a write up and pic in next weeks edition, so fingers crossed who knows? |

hi hawaii50,firstly we dont know the lads name?,and secondly can you decide on a drop off point for the money and folk can drop it off, either through the letter box in an envelope or a knock on the door, so we need an address.... if you dont want to give an address have a word with a shop owner or post office as a drop off point and leave details on here, cheers |

Its so lovely to see so many people being generous and offering to help this young boy. It must of been really upsetting to loose so much money and i hope enough money is raised to repair how sad he must of felt. The act of generosity is priceless. £5 from me .... i will keep watching for details for a drop off point ... Michelle |

Hawaii50 When you went to report this lost property at Keighley Police station, did they give you an occurrence number? if not; then it might not have been put onto the system, so if it were to be found there will not be any trace of your report. |
|
| Hawaii50 |
Grandad - thanks for the advice, I didnt get an occurence nos but will get back in touch with Keighley P Stn again & try & get one. Just for everyones info I believe Bens plight has been in yesterdays Telegraph & Argus too! |

A massive thanks to all of you very very kind people who have donated money (£70 in total) to Ben, we can never say how grateful we are - you are all amazing - thanks again! |
|
| ginjo |
good result, a shame no one handed in the lost money. I see Ben was in the news last year when he wrote to david cameron complaining about raunchy music videos! |
|
| Hawaii50 |
Ginjo - yes that was Ben! He loves his music but finds the videos for alot of them abit embarassing sometimes when he's watching them in front of adults - that will change no doubt! |
|
| Golden Oldie |
What a great turnout for this young lad, well done Cobbydalers. Hope it helps towards his chosen gift. |

|
