Where's the best Fish & Chip shop within a reasonable distance of Silsden?
(owners of F&C shops please declare it in your posting!)

I should support the Silsden ones, but Eastburn and Sutton are both supposed to be very good. Haven't tried Eastburn in a while but they're good at Sutton. In Silsden, I always go to 'the middle one' (opposite the beck), and think they're just as good. |

There's a chippie in Keighley up Oakworth Road (top of the hill on the right) which does absolutely brilliant Fish & Chips!
I think it's called "Oxford Fisheries"

The best fish and chip shop by far is Newmarket St fish shop, 50,Newmarket St Skipton. You will have to ring them for opening times as I am not sure what they are tel 01756 790261 Try them you won't be dissapointed, huge fresh white fish size of a special and loads of chips, the price is very reasonable too. |

Grinian asked where the best fish and chip shop was within reasonable distance from Silsden. I replied naming Newmarket Fish Shop Skipton as the best. The fish and chip shops in Silsden are both awful. |

usually go to the one on the bridge as its about 50ft from my front door good too (kinda dangerous) but round and about bizzie lizzies skipton is disgusting the ones on the bridge in skipton near sackville streetare pretty good
never been to eastburn or sutton as there always shut when i go past
park road at bingley are always good and always open
brooks years ago in keighley used to be good value (not the best as fish was a frozen battered small piece but good value years ago at £1 for fish n chips probably £2 now but still cheap) |

peter - did you not see offcumden's pre-edited post? far more offensive than than my mild contribution!
Keith Lemon - your post made personal derogatory comments which offcumden objected to and asked for the post to be deleted. On this forum do not make personal comments about people that you wouln't say to their face. Peter |

I had a similar experience the last time I eat at 'Harry Ramsdens' (haven't been there since), I remember thinking it was probably because the chips had been stored in the freezer for far too long.
(PS. Apology accepted Keith Lemon). |
