This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Hi, I think I have the worst neighbours in history, they are so loud! My baby is woken throughout the night by them and I just don't know what my options are, it's been 10 months of screaming domestics, screaming kids, parties, loud music, loud swearing, drugs! I can't be the only one to have heard them, I'm not going to name names but its around the tufton street area. What do I do? Help me lol

do you know whether they own the house or if they are tennants, if they are renting, the landlord should be able to evict them but you need proof so I would keep a diary of times and dates of nuisance and of dates and times you have reported it to police, if drugs are involved then I would hope the police would do something.Speak to the pcso off the record, he calls in to the methodist coffee sessions on weekday morning I think, there are dates and times of his surgeries on the police website.I would also look on bradford council website as they have officers who come out and monitor noise and they have powers to take action.
Do not be intimidated by threats you have to make a stand or nothing will change.Good Luck

Responses to your urgent problem have been a bit depressing so far, although ginjo is doing his his best to help. I suppose I shouldn't know what skippy's civic role is but most people do and if this is his official view of the way West Yorkshire Police protect the public, things need to change. We have an elected Police Commissioner who will be interested in your problem. Also there are 3 elected councillors to contact. Cllr Adrian Naylor is very highly thought of in Silsden. Both national and local government policies are against people having to suffer nasty neighbours in the way you do. Find someone to help you get efficient support.(Plus Silsden overlords please note; this sort of thing brushed aside does the town and it's surrounding area no good at all)

Thanks paperclip, that's really helpful! Do you know how I would go about getting in touch with a councillor?

I am sorry to here that your having problems with your neighbours. I have experienced the same, and I understand why your own neighbours are probably scared to say anything, as you do not know what type of people are coming to the house. You really must start writing a diary of all the noise and take car number plates, this way you have a log and the council then need to take some form of action.

Hi,

I'm on Tufton Street too and there's a couple of households that worry me one being my neighbours who play ridiculously loud music at god knows what time of the night. Haven't heard them in a few days so hoping they've gone. The other is across the road and by all the signs is very dodgy. We thought this street was one of the best in Silsden but now we're here it doesn't seem it but we love the house and have moved too much as it is. Hope your issues get sorted but you can nip round for a cuppa and a complain about the neighbors anytime happy :)
