I have just been to Silsden Park and I am apalled at the inconsiderate parking from what i assume to be bowlers! They are parked on the park, driving on there as though children have no right to be playing there, they have parked over junctions and corners on Banklands and also on the path up Fletcher avenue where a mother struggled to pass with her buggy.Do the bowling fraternity have more rights than other park users?it certainly looks that way from here.angryangryangry

this post has been edited 1 time(s)

I used to live down there, it drove me so mad i had to move.
I once asked a miserable old man who seemed to be down there a lot if they could have a word with the away teams to be more considerate when parking, he was really quite nasty.
As for the footballers and rugby players the less said the better. wait till the nice nights when the chavs can't be bothered to walk to hill they park there cars up there.

Alan, you are being unfair to Shazza, if you live on Fletcher Avenue then Saturdays can be a pain with the rugby and football supporter using the park (grass) side of the road to park. During the winter months the grass at the side of Fletcher Avenue is usually churned up by people parking for rugby and football matches.

Today there was a very noisy bowling match and cars parked on the grass, but not the usual just off the road parking, this was organised 90deg to the road parking!

It proves the ground isn't too wet, if you parked like this in the rugby season you would need a tractor tow to get back onto Fletcher Avenue.

If you walk your dog in the park, especially during the lighter evening months, you would know occassionally there are tyre tracks going from Fletcher Avenue to the rugby pitch. Perhaps a few questions to the residents of Fletcher Avenue and Banklands Lane would be in order.

I do live near the park and although kids can be a right pain occasionaly(noise, broken bottles, ect)the ones that cause all residents on Fletcher av,Oak View most problems are the BOWLERS!!!!They are the most inconsiderate, loud mouthed, bad mannered, selfish people I have had the misfortune to come across. They do not care how much agrivation they cause with their parking just so long as they can get as near as dam it to the green.Has any of them thought of using the car park in town now the bridge is back???

they won't be able to walk that far!! in my experience a lot of older people are very selfish and ignorant I have encountered this many times, they are a lot worse than the younger generation, they push in in queues and let doors go in your face and the number of times I have nearly been knocked down on the crossings by a senior citizen well don't get me started!

Think that it's you that wants the argument! Read mine and others posts. That was my point she DIDN'T mention kids but others spun it to include kids.

I object to being called a wrinkly, leave us alone to grow old disgracefully. Perhaps we should park our cars on the rugby pitch to give you all summit to talk about. Didn't know parking on the grass was a problem to the youths. laugh :D

Ah jojo, am entitled to call the bowlers wrinklies, 'cos I'm a wrinkly myself, as my kids always tell me! wink ;)

I just get totally fed up of the kids in this town always being criticised, when we are fortunate with the vast majority and it's only a tiny minority who cause any perceived problems!

Miss Jones, and the rest of you who are complaining on here about vehicles parked on the park grass, I suggest instead of moaning about it here, why don’t you ring Bradford Council, tell them.
Why? Because it is against their bylaws to take an unauthorised vehicle into a park, and before anybody as a go at the police for not enforcing this bylaw, remember it is for the council to do so; not the police.
