I need many jobs doing in the house in Silsden and have found David Chad an excellent plumber who does a thorough job at a reasonable price. How I wish I had asked him to drill six holes for the hooks I needed. I made the mistake of using someone who I bumped into in Silsden whose family I had taught many years ago at Addingham School. I mentioned the little job. He sent his younger brother round and we had a chat about old times over a coffee and the job was done in minutes - albeit a bit of a mess, but something I would not have attempted myself - David Chad and the firemen who saw the mess said they would have done it for nothing, not £40. When he told me the job was £40 I was horrified - he must be joking. I handed him the £40 saying it was way too much. He pocketed it. I rang his older brother who asked me if I wanted my money back. I said I wanted to pay a fair price for a fair job. After several phone calls it was agreed that the monies would be repaid less what the job was worth. That was November and I am still waiting. So beware the workman you think you know unless you have used them yourself and know they are good like David Chad. That is Hall I wish to say. |
