It’s inevitable that greenfield sites are going to be built on due to this countries immigration policy.
If you don’t like it then vote for a party that is anti immigration.

Recommendations

The development of land surrounding Silsden should result in some form of ‘planning gain’ to compensate the community of Silsden for the loss of the countryside of Silsden. The Silsden Survey identified the following list of community facilities which any developer should be prepared to contribute to:

Swimming pool/leisure centre

Footbridge across Aire Valley Trunk Road

A new children’s play area close to the town centre

Because the local builder has put the houses too near to the large Oak tree at the centre of the picture they are now digging up the roots for the driveways. On the planning permission they must not work within 2 metres of the canopy, I wonder if Silsden town council care if will loose another Oak tree.

Victor or others reading this!
Please phone Bradford Planning with immediate effect.
We must not let this happen and allow the loss of more mature Oak trees.
Unfortunately I cannot do this...I have now to hit the road.
Where is our Environmental group?

PS I'm sure Silsden Town Council care about the loss of an oak tree BUT they have no powers to ensure any building is carried out to the plans passed. BTW STC only see planning applications and make a recomendation, the final planning permission is given by Bradford.

The first thing I did was to phone planning then I contacted Adrian Naylor, who got back to me and told me he had reported to planning. Then I contacted Mr Mallinson with no reply and then I posted the info on hear. In less than an hour Chris Atkinson has visited the site with Mr Snell and the work has stopped for now, I just hope no lasting damage has been done to the Oak tree.

it is good to here the work has stopped for now and let's just hope the oak tree has not suffered any lasting damage as i am sure our local builder has upset enough people already and seeing the houses yesterday that he has built with only enough space between them to fit a wheelbarrow proves what a greedy man he is, I am sure he will not be too bothered if a beautiful oak tree gets in the way of his dash for cash

May I note here that it is the policy of far right racist groups to oversimplify a country's problems and then to blame immigrants or minority groups for those problems.

All due respect to captainslogg and I do not wish to imply that captainslogg is any way connected with any such group.

Interesting points where some will call you racist. In the paper today it claims we need about 300,000 extra school places due to Labours open door policy. It is a fact that our infrastructure will buckle under the strain of too many people and Canada & Australia seem to have more sensible and more importantly sustainable immigration policies

Peter with respect this post is about The Daisy Hill development not immigration. Any damage to oak tree has been covered over with top soil so you can't tell how much damage was done.

I find it illuminating to read which of our elected representatives responded to requests for assistance on this matter.
I only hope that each and every time the people of Silsden get to cast their votes; they remember the names of the ones who work for Silsden and place the cross in the right box.
Lets get rid of the ones who are only in politics for the money.
