IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Does anyone know what the precept has paid for in silsden? I do not object to paying a precept but it would be nice to know where the money has been spent and where it is going to be spent this year.Maybe towards some dog poo bins?? |

It was on the leaflet that came with the rates, but no detailed breakdown. If this were France Silsden would have a proper Mayor and more local control than we have now. some ideas from France for real local government are good. |

Then again, if this was France we would all be speaking French, eating Snails and trying to make a sandwich from a very long thin loaf of bread...... |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) I'll go with tolpuddle on this one...more local control and influence might get us somewhere. Big government is not beautiful these days, they have us by the short and curlies, and won't let go! What's the weather like in France...it's about to go very cold again here? |

As we are EU members, we should all try to be more tolerant when it comes to our fellow European neighbours. France is a very nice country to visit and you can buy your coal - a la carte or cul de sac. |
