If you need to use Airedale Hospital make sure you have a mobile phone with you in case of fire. The fire brigade will no longer turn out until the situation has been seen by a "fire warden" If you see a fire or smell smoke dial 999 and dont wait for the hospital to give it the once over www.keighleynews.co.uk/news/news_keighley/4542423.Staff_fear_new_fire_alerts_may/ |

This has been the case for many months now; most folk accepted it and got on with it, now somebody found out about it and went running to the Keighley News who made a big deal out of it. Personally I think it may be a mistake but I can totally see where they're coming from, the fire brigade (and those who employ our retained firefighters) must get really wound up with turning out to firefight burnt toast. |

It seems obvious that the fire brigade is called when there is a fire. However, why call them when there is not one. The problem seems to be an automatic system that calls them out willy nilly. Looked like a typical paranoid scare story with little substance. |
