I have just driven home from work via Ilkley the A65 after the junction with Cocking Lane and all the way up and over Cringles the is a large amount of very deep standing water. I am sure this is the case in other places too as the rain gulley's seem to be fit to bursting combined with a lot of water which is coming off the moor it is quite tricky out there right now. The rain gulley's are also over flowing on Bolton Road. I am guessing this is not getting much better as its started to rain heavy, I noticed the River Wharfe near Burley In Wharfedale (near the old Little Chef place) is about as high as I have ever seen. |

the road to Carleton is also closed due to flooding. just ben down to the post office to watch the beck which is in full spate this afternoon. It's lapping over on the John Street side & not far off spilling onto the main road. Lots of people taking pics including our councillor plus a Yorkshire Water van parked up keeping an eye on things. It's going to be full of boulders & rubble once again... |
