Anybody know why the field has been ploughed? Firstly was fenced off and now tilled, is that to stop it becoming COMMOMN LAND where people take their dogs for excersise or are we going to get crops?

Am i misunderstanding? Are you asking why a piece of land that presumably is privately owned has been fenced off and ploughed rather than left to be adopted as common land? Surely the reason is that the owner wants to keep the land for his or her use and not for dogs.

HA. Near me there are few people who just walk their dogs after dark off the lead and let them wander all over.
Apparently after dark gardens with no fence/ hedge are an extension of the pavement so fair game. I have even seen one collie charge at other dogs growling and snarling, trying to "herd" I think. The dog it was doing it to was getting worked up but that was on a lead and the owner was "controlling" it (wasn't able to go anywhere as on LEAD).

Also noticed this morning that the old house looks to have been made secure. The gate onto the canal was sealed with concrete to stop access. Is it the Building company that has initiated all the work? Certainly looks like something afoot down there.

Not telling tales. I was walking the dog this morning and one man and his dog walked right across the ploughed field!! Went into the plot where the horses are. Could he own the field or just putting two you know what up the plot thickens

I've just been for a walk down Sykes Lane. Someone has partially fenced the lane off just after Jack Nareys old field. Granted, the lane comes to a dead end close to the river and it hasn't been used much. Is that not illegal? Rubble has been tipped down there which is fly tipping.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that Sykes Lane is a bridleway mainly used for access.

How long has Sykes Lane been a Car Scrap Yard?
Went down recently and never seen so many old and unused cars abandoned. Maybe time to get Tommy Holmes in?
What a Tip! whoever owns all the abandoned cars should be ashamed!

all this sounds to be getting out of control. It should be stopped before it becomes a proper tip. Who is there to contact to do anything about it ?
